Instructions to make your own Scintilla sweater in pdf format for you to download. For sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL.
Irregular stripes on the body, intersected with Fair Isle motifs at the yoke, give this simple yoked sweater an unusual look.
With only 5 contrast colours, this is a really fun sweater to choose harmonious colour variants for. Think of the red colour (CC3) as your highlight colour.
Seamless and knit in the round, this sweater is knit from the top down, gradually increasing to shape the shoulders. The body and sleeves are then divided equally and short rows are added at the top back (to raise the back neck) and at the bottom back edge which, along with the gentle tapering, gives a lovely rounded shape to the body. Sleeves are knitted straight and then gathered into a fitted cuff.
Level of difficulty and skills required
Intermediate. Pattern requires chart-reading skills and knowledge of how to do Short Rows. Pattern also assumes knowledge of the Fair Isle technique (stranded colourwork) and a cast on and off of your choice.
